About Amina Gordon

MY PASSION FOR PLANTS

My name is Amina Gordon, but close family and friends know me as Kiko—a nickname that reflects my vibrant personality and love for cultivating connections. My passion for plants began in my childhood, nurtured by my grandmother’s innate love for cultivating life through her garden.

Her care for plants instilled in me a deep appreciation for their beauty and resilience, a love I have carried throughout my life. Over the years, this passion has evolved into a personal refuge, offering therapeutic experiences that ground me amidst the busyness of my professional and personal commitments.

With roots firmly grounded in my Jamaican heritage, I cherish the traditions of care, community, and balance that were integral to my upbringing. I’ve carried these values into my life and work, creating opportunities to share the importance of nurturing life and finding harmony. My weekly gardening club, focusing on hydroponics, allows me to connect with others by sharing how the care of plants can foster calm and creativity.

Beyond gardening, I am deeply committed to empowering individuals and families through education and community engagement. My work is inspired by the belief that our lived experiences and cultural values are powerful tools for growth and resilience.

I also enjoy traveling and community service, both of which deepen my understanding of diverse cultures and perspectives.

These experiences, paired with my love for gardening, reflect my belief in the power of balance and care—whether for plants, people, or communities. I invite you to discover how the integration of plants into any space can bring harmony, beauty, and inspiration to your life.

Let’s cultivate something extraordinary together!
